Youth

Kids are the heart of Riverfront! Below, find out about the programs we offer kids from birth - high school of all ability levels:

Sunday Circles & Nursery

This isn't your grandma's Sunday School, so why call it that? We have Sunday Circles for Pre-K & Kindergarten, 1st - 5th grades, & Middle/High School students on Sunday mornings during the Gathering Service (10:30 - 11:30am).

Little ones receive the best of care under the supervision of our Nursery Director, Kate McClellan. Nursery is available during the Gathering service.

Email Jen Moyer for more information.

Spirit Clubs

Spirit Clubs are weekly, fun-filled, action-packed after-school or evening programs for children in 1st-5th grades. They teach your children how to connect with God through songs, memory verses, flannelgram Bible Stories, modern hero stories, and, most importantly, a relationship with a spiritually mature teacher.  Both Catholics and Protestants participate because the curriculum is based on common, basic virtues.

Right now, we have a 3:30pm, Monday club in West Hartford. We would love to start a club in YOUR HOME, if you are willing to host and invite some friends.

Email Jen Moyer for more information.

Spirit Girls (Middle School)

Spirit Girls is a bi-weekly, Friday evening meeting of girls in grades 6 - 8.  Your daughter will build relationships with spiritually mature teachers and mentors as well as learn to trust their fellow-clubbers with questions and issues in their day-to-day lives.  After sharing highs and lows, the girls do a fun activity together. Then, they journal as they watch a video describing the big story of the Bible and share their insights with one another.

The club alternates between West Hartford and Glastonbury homes, 6:45 - 8:15pm, Friday nights.

Email Liza Arulampalam for more information.

Spirit Guys (Middle School)

Spirit Guys is a bi-weekly, Wednesday afternoon meeting of guys in grade 6-8. Your son will build relationships with spiritually mature teachers and mentors as well as their fellow clubbers.  After sharing a snack and catching up with one another, the guys do a fun activity together (build marshmallow shooters from PVC, make donuts, build birdhouses, etc).  Then, they journal as they watch a video describing the big story of the Bible and share their insights with one another.

Right now, the club meets in Glastonbury, 4:00 - 5:30pm on alternate Wednesday afternoons.

Email Jen Moyer for more information.

Confirmation or Pre-Baptism Class

Pastor Nancy and church mentors lead a series of retreats for 9th and 10th graders to reflect on their faith and make it their own.  We do not have a class this year due to lack of demand, but once our younger children mature, this will happen!

Those who wish to publicly make a commitment to follow Jesus are invited to be baptized or confirmed.

Email Nancy Butler for more information.

High School Leadership Huddle

Does your teen have an interest in discipling others?  If so, we offer a two-year leadership development program under a Huddle Coach (of their choosing) who will teach them how to build a strong personal spiritual foundation and then pass it on to others. In the second year of the program your teen would co-lead a teen huddle or lead a middle-school or elementary club.
